Our story

Mary Jo Jones founded Universal Therapeutic Massage Institute, Inc. in 1993. 

It was Mary Jo’s wish to create a school that was centered on the student’s growth as an individual. Part of UTMI's philosophy is to ensure that our students are well prepared to work in any professional environment or open their own private practice.

We have designed our Therapeutic Massage program to include 722 hours of education. This includes 150 hours of supervised Clinical Practicum experience. 

Our qualified instructors are thorough, detailed and dedicated. The classroom experience includes lectures, demonstrations, and students receive hands-on instruction with professional guidance.

We offer morning, afternoon, and evening classes through which the entire Therapeutic Massage course can be completed in 9-11 months.  Upon completion, the graduate will have all of the tools necessary to embark on a wonderfully satisfying 

and highly rewarding career.
